Your child writes quickly. That is not the problem. The problem is that speed has become the priority, and accuracy has been left behind.
Letters change shape. Words are hard to read. Work looks rushed, even when your child says they tried their best.
This is not carelessness. It is a sign that the movement patterns for writing have not yet become automatic. When forming letters still takes effort, speed becomes a way to get through it faster.
A different way to see it
What looks like not trying is often the opposite.
Children in the Flying pattern are working hard. They are just working fast to reduce the effort writing takes. When we slow the process down and build more consistent movement patterns, the quality follows.
